Loved your reflection of the movie. I watched it too, and felt this ache and tenderness but it felt overwhelming. Maybe it was the toddler and big kid next to me on the plane while I watched it, but I found the concept of past lives (there was a term in Korean) so beautiful. It was unlike any thing I’ve watched or read. (I read a lot of commercial fiction and I am trying to write something that is more like this film than what’s out there). Nice to meet you here on Substack and looking forward to more of your book recs!!
I know exactly what you mean when you say it felt overwhelming and I would love to read even more books that evoke similar feelings/ have a similar vibe. So lovely to meet you on here, too!
I loved this movie, and I agree with everything you've written. Also happy to see two books I've read and loved included 💛
Ooooh which ones?
This film moved me to my core, thank you for the book recs!
You’re so welcome and it moved me immensely, too. I don’t think my heart has recovered!
I loved So Long a Letter!
An absolute gem of a book!
