Thanks, Jess- I’m glad you’re excited about it too! Also, I completely get what you mean about feeling more out of your depth with poetry vs. fiction. I love poetry but it definitely demands a very specific kind of energy and attention from me!
Hi Tasnim! Not sure if you’re aware but Scott Cassidy helped launch his Substack Daunder by uploading poems for 30 days starting on World Poetry Day in March earlier this year.
I particularly enjoyed either starting or ending the day with a shared poem.
Hi Frances! I didn’t know this and I’m unfamiliar with Daunder but thank you for bringing it to my attention. I also hadn’t given much thought to timing of posts yet but the start or end of the day is such a nice idea… Maybe I’ll get a feel for each poem and see which end of the day it suits best! 💙
Of course, that makes perfect sense! Also, I was being way too optimistic- it’ll be quite the miracle if I’m organised enough to be posting anything first thing 😂
So looking forward to this project! I've been finding more solace in poetry lately, too, but I feel more out of my depth with it than fiction.

I want to be a poetry person but no luck so far, so looking forward to what you share!!
Out there somewhere is a poet (or at least a poem or two) for you, I’m sure of it! 💙

Scott uploaded each post whenever it suited him but I read them mostly at the beginning or the end of the day…

Love it and am fascinated to read your choices. Thank you so much.
